Covid-19 testing on campus
If you’re planning on travelling home for Christmas, help keep yourself and others safe by booking a Covid-19 test
To help you spend Christmas with your family, the Department for Education has created a student travel window from Thursday 3 to Wednesday 9 December.
So those students who are planning on travelling within the UK can do so safely during this time, an asymptomatic testing site (ATS) will be running on campus for Solent students between Monday 30 November and Friday 11 December. The site will also now be opening on Tuesday 15 and Friday 18 December, for those students travelling after the student travel window.
At the testing site, students without symptoms will be able to take one of the new, faster tests (known as lateral flow antigen tests), with results back in just 30 minutes.
Ideally, you should take 2 tests, 3 days apart and then travel home within the next 24 hours.
We strongly encourage you to be tested before travelling home to minimise the risk of spreading the virus, and to keep yourself, our community and your loved ones safe.
Testing will be available Monday-Friday, from 9am-5pm in the Sir James Matthews (SJM) building.
