Printer services unavailable - update 13 July

Please be aware that print services on campus will be unavailable from 2pm on Friday 2 July

13th July 2021

Update - Tuesday 13 July:

On Friday 2 July, in direct response to a new Microsoft vulnerability, the University temporarily stopped its print services. This means printing is currently unavailable across campus and on all university owned devices, both on campus and at home. Photocopying and scanning are unaffected.

This issue is affecting organisations worldwide, who have also taken the decision to disable printing to protect their IT services. An initial patch was provided by Microsoft at the start of the week, but this does not fully mitigate the vulnerability, so printing will remain unavailable until a full fix is released by Microsoft.

In the meantime, sending documents to the Canon print centre will not be affected.
