Menopause Café - June 2024
Everyone is welcome to join us for Solent's next Menopause Café!
Solent's next Menopause café will be held on Monday 10 June, 13:00 - 14:00 in the Dock.
Menopause Cafe’s aim to talk about menopause in a new way, to break down taboos, and increase awareness of the impact of the menopause on those experiencing it, their family, friends and their colleagues.
The Menopause Café is a registered charity which was started by Rachel Weiss in Perth, Scotland in June 2017. Menopause café's now operate worldwide from UK to India, Bahrain to Mexico.
At a Menopause Café, people gather to drink tea or coffee and discuss menopause. This is a discussion group mainly where people connect over shared experiences, concerns or questions. Any formal talk or presentation is limited and the topics are chosen by participants.
Our Menopause Café is offered:
• In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
• Open for all, regardless of gender or age
• With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
• On a not for profit basis
“The Menopause Café is for everyone who wants to talk about the menopause. Unfortunately, many people feel that they should just ‘get on with’ the menopause, with some never talking to their friends or family about it. People can come along and just listen, or join in the discussions, hopefully leaving with a clearer sense of the impact of the menopause on those who are experiencing it, alongside their families, friends and colleagues.” Rachel Weiss
Spaces are limited so please do let us know if you secure a space and aren’t able to attend.
If you have any questions about the Menopause Café, please contact developingpeople@solent.ac.uk.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
