Her inspiration for songwriting began after moments of heartbreak, now, she wants to let others know they’re not alone in their feelings and hurt. She seeks for her fans to feel free when they listen to her songs and express their emotions.
Jess is inspired by Nieve Ella's ability to have an image formed around her and her band. Jess strives to do the same and tour with her band.

She’s expressed that she’s not in this industry for the money and would rather do small, intimate shows where she feels conversational with the audience. She conveyed that she wants a friendly dynamic to her shows, where the audience feel safe, reflecting how she wants them to feel when listening to her songs.
Her music is calming yet her lyrics mirror her emotions. Her music can be described as "heartbreak hell" and has recently gone down the route of "all organic" sounds, as she feels this shows how these situations made her feel and how she wants fans to perceive her as a person.
