With winter approaching, here's how we're preparing to keep the campus warm and comfortable.
The Estates and Facilities team has begun preparations to enable the campus heating system in anticipation of the winter season.
The heating will be systematically switched on and tested to ensure that the entire system is fully operational and free from issues. This process will start from mid-October and will continue throughout the next few weeks, so you may notice some radiators warming up.
We are carefully monitoring external temperatures, which will determine when the heating is switched on across campus, both for overnight and peak daytime temperature.
While we aim to maintain comfortable working temperatures, there may be occasions where this is harder to achieve. As a result, some buildings or spaces could feel cooler than usual during the winter months. To ensure your comfort on campus, we recommend dressing appropriately for the weather.
We would like to remind staff that, in accordance with our heating and cooling policy, electric or fan heaters must not be brought onto campus; any found will be removed.
Any issues with temperature or ventilation must be reported via Planon.
