If you have exam stress or financial worries, our new Student Assistance Programme is here to support you.
As we hope you know, your wellbeing is one of Solent’s top priorities. Whether it’s your health, exams or finance issues that you’re worried about, the University is here to support you.
Therefore, alongside our Mental Health and Wellbeing vision, we are pleased to announce that we have now introduced a Student Assistance Programme (SAP), available immediately to all students.
What is a Student Assistance Programme (SAP)?
A SAP is a confidential resource, designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home or student life, health, or general wellbeing.
The SAP service we have chosen, provided by external company Health Assured, offers a complete support network including expert advice and compassionate guidance, covering a wide range of issues. Health Assured’s SAP offers cover for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
What resources are on offer?
The Health Assured app and portal offer a wide range of resources through a number of different platforms:
- Four-week programmes
- Health checks
- Online counselling
- Newsletters (which we will be linking to in Solent’s monthly student newsletter)
These platforms cover a variety of important topics, including:
- Physical health – weight, exercise, sleep, smoking, drinking
- Emotional health – anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stress
- Life support – legal and financial, family and relationships, bereavement and loss
- Work and education
How do I access support?
You can also access Health Assured’s portal here: www.healthassuredeap.com
You can find passwords for the 'My Healthy advantage' app and Health Assured portal on this page. You will need to log in with your student credentials to view them.
All students at Solent will have the same login for Health Assured’s app and portal. This is purely to access resources and you won’t be asked for any personal information when you log in. Please be assured that no member of staff or other students will be able to access any information shared with Health Assured through these platforms, or by any other means.
You can also phone 0800 030 5182 to speak directly with a Health Assured counsellor.
If you have any queries about the Health Assured service or other wellbeing support, please speak to the Student Hub.
