The league table results have now been released and we've gone up 20 places!

7th June 2023

UPDATE: Following revisions to a three subject tables, including Biomedical Sciences, The CUG have today (Wednesday 28 June) republished the main league table ranking Solent 96th, meaning we have risen 21 places on last year’s position. There will be no further changes to the tables this year.

The Complete University Guide published its 2024 league table this morning (Wednesday 7 June), and we are pleased to report Solent has risen 20 places from last year – we are now ranked at 97 out of 130.

The move sees Solent at its highest position in the last six years, and also places us ahead of two institutions in our direct competitor set.

Professor James Knowles, Vice-Chancellor, said: “I am delighted to see this strong improvement in our rankings, reflecting the continued progress of our strategic plans and our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality teaching, research, and facilities that deliver a successful future for our students.

We will be analysing the data behind the result to gather further insights on the wider institution and individual subject areas, and will share our findings with you as soon as possible. Until then, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the hard work and commitment that has delivered this result.”

The Complete University Guide’s main league table is based on ten measures: Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Graduate Prospects – outcomes, Graduate Prospects – on track, Student-Staff Ratio, Spending on Academic Services, Spending on Student Facilities, and Continuation.
