Solent Success Week

As we approach the end of another academic year, we’re looking back at our university, student, graduate and staff successes from 2022/23.

Kicking off with great National Student Survey (NSS) results from 2022, Solent received an increased satisfaction to 72.5% and came out ahead of both sector and benchmark for 6 of the 9 key measures.

The University has achieved the Silver Engage Watermark, and was named Outstanding Higher Education (HE) Training Provider of the Year at the CMI Awards 2022, and Educational Institution of the Year at the Basketball England National Awards 2022.

Following a number of successful bids, Solent has been awarded over £4 million in funding by the OfS to help us improve our healthcare and STEM subject areas; a share of over £8 million to invest in AI and data science scholarships; and the South Coast Institute of Technology (IoT) has been officially launched.

Our students have received multiple accolades, including the Beavis Minter Award, two awards at the DVMISSION 48-Hour Film Challenge, and Best Film in this year's Making Waves Future BAFTA Winners Short Film Competition, as well as U23 Silver at the European Cross Country Championship.

Our graduates have also been busy, having won the Student Award for Excellence in Architectural Technology Project at this year’s CIAT annual AT Awards, the CIMSPA prize for Contribution to Sport and Physical Activity, and the prestigious MCA Officer Trainee of the Year.
