Student move out weekend

The last weekend of June is often when you may find yourself moving out of your accommodation. As a civic university, and in line with the University values, we ask that you are considerate of your neighbours and dispose of your waste and unwanted items in an environmentally friendly and considerate way when leaving your accommodation.

Southampton City Council have provided guidelines to help you ensure that you do not receive any enforcement action. Here are some key points to remember:

• If your household waste bin is full, or you have excess recyclables, you can take your excess waste to the Household Waste Recycling Centre – remember to book prior to your visit!
• Glass jars and bottles should be placed within your grey glass box and placed out on collection with your blue-lidded recycling bin. Any excess can be taken to the nearest glass bank.
• No fly-tipping!
