Student support over the winter break
Campus closure dates, wellbeing support and more
Please be aware that the majority of university services and buildings* will be closing for the winter break from 5pm on Thursday 21 December 2023, until 8.30am on Tuesday 2 January 2024.
Student Hub
The Student Hub will be closed from Friday 15 December for in-person drop-ins, but the team can still be reached by email: student.hub@solent.ac.uk and telephone: 023 8201 5200 until Thursday 21 December.
Students can also book a phone or Teams appointment on the student support app.
Our Student Assistance Programme is available 24/7 365 for wellbeing support, including helpful webinars, podcasts and articles.
The Library
*The Library will be open on various days throughout the winter break.
Residences
Our residence team will be available onsite between 9am-3pm on the 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 28th and 29th December to offer assistance. Security will be working 24/7 and you can call the ResHub on 07778 345113 if you need any support.
Solent Futures
The Solent Futures drop-in advice desk will be closed from Friday 15 December, although all appointments will go ahead as normal. The team can still be emailed via solent.futures@solent.ac.uk until Thursday 21 December.
Online appointments are also bookable until Thursday 21 December. Students can book through SOL and the Solent Futures appointments page and Solent graduates can book an online appointment by emailing solent.futures@solent.ac.uk
Solent Futures Online, our online careers resource, can be accessed 24/7. You can sign up for job alerts for part-time jobs, placements, internships and graduate opportunities. You can also get instant feedback on your CV using CV360, discover the Living CV to help you evidence your skills and knowledge, and use the e-learning hub with videos on how to boost your career skills.
Solent Creatives
The Solent Creatives studio will be closed to students from Friday 15 December and will be back in action on Tuesday 2 January. If you need to chat to the team, you can reach them via email: solentcreatives@solent.ac.uk until Thursday 21 December.
