The deadline for your chance to win £10k is Tuesday 3 May 2022

Business and finance

As we get closer to the deadline for proposals to enter 'The Business Pitch', Solent University’s Dragon's Den-style competition, we are delighted to announce that in addition to the £10,000 investment prize for the winning business venture, NatWest are offering two Golden Tickets, one for the winner and one for the runner up for a place on the NatWest Accelerator Hub at Chandlers Ford. This is in addition to mentoring support from Solent University’s Business Advisory Board.

We have had some strong interest and as the deadline fast approaches there’s still time for you to submit a scalable and creative idea for a business start-up, or a proposal to accelerate your business to the next level. The Business Pitch competition is open to innovative students and alumni (those who graduated after 2015) of Solent University.

The Business Pitch competition is not just for those starting out, but is also a fantastic opportunity for those seeking the next level of business growth. Solent has an enviable record of assisting start-ups and helping business grow. (3rd in UK for graduate business start-ups HE-BCI 2021)

Entrants that get to the final pitching round will face Theo Paphitis, Chancellor of Solent University, and a panel of regional business executives in the summer of 2022.

Candidates will be requested to demonstrate their business's environmental, economic, and social sustainability impact on the UK economy, the city of Southampton, and the Central South region, when submitting their business plans.

The deadline for proposals to be submitted is Tuesday 3 May.

Our Solent Futures business adviser, Nicky Curtis, is able to offer support and guidance to help you develop your business proposal. Email enterprise@solent.ac.uk to book a face-to-face or MS Teams catch-up. You can also take a look at our checklist, to make sure you're on the right track.
