10 years of the Spark creative competition

As part of the University's celebration for 10 years of the Spark building, we're launching a competition for you to share your own artist version of the Pod.

It could be a drawing, painting, sculpture, animation – any art format is eligible! The competition is open to Solent staff and students.

The winning entry, judged by our panel, will receive a £200 Amazon voucher, and two runner-up entries will get a £50 voucher each.

All entries need to be submitted by 12 noon on Tuesday 20 October. Please send your final design to internal.comms@solent.ac.uk

Please ensure you include:

• A jpeg or mp4 of your entry, for judging purposes
• Three photos maximum
• Your name, email address and course / department
• 100 words max. to describe your entry

The competition will be judged w/c 26 October by Allan Taylor, Dean of the School of Creative Industries at Solent, and the Director from Scott Brownrigg - one of the architects who originally worked on the Spark project! 

The winner will be contacted via email on Wednesday 4 November and sent their prize.

All entries will be showcased in the atrium and on the video wall in the Spark at our 10 years of the Spark celebration event on Tuesday 10 November. We’ll also be hosting wellbeing activities, a treasure hunt around the city, and some very special Pod-inspired sweet treats!

Photos of the entries will also be showcased at architect Scott Brownrigg's head office for a short time after the competition closes. (Please notify us in your email if you would not like your entry to be included in this.)
