An update from the guided learning team

How you contact the team will be changing from 1 September 2025

We’d like to inform you about an upcoming change to how students and staff access support from the guided learning team.

During August, with a view to launch on 1 September 2025, we will be transitioning from our current physical and virtual helpdesk model to a streamlined appointment-based booking system. Appointments can be requested online via Teams or Zoom, or in-person at the library in East Park Terrace.

Students and staff seeking guidance will now book a slot using a dedicated QR code or direct link: https://learn.solent.ac.uk/booking, that connects them directly to our new booking form. This change aims to improve the efficiency of our service and ensure a more focused and personalised support experience.

In the case of emergencies or urgent needs, students will still be able to receive timely assistance from advisers. We’re committed to maintaining our level of care while improving the process behind it.

Our comprehensive student help system will continue to provide support across a range of topics, including:

  • Assessments
  • Accounts
  • SOL (Student Online Learning)
  • Digital skills
