Students are being advised of a change to the University library’s opening hours which will come into effect from September.
The updated hours are designed to continue supporting effective study in a safe and welcoming environment, while also helping the University make more efficient use of resources and reduce energy consumption as part of its wider environmental commitments.
The library will be open at the following times from 1 September:
Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 6.00pm (help desk open 10am - 4pm)
Saturday and Sunday: 10.00am – 6.00pm (help desk open 10am-6pm)
Even when the library building is closed, students can still access a wide range of online books, journals, articles and other learning resources through the library catalogue, both on and off campus. Subject specific LibGuides are also available, offering recommended resources and guidance to support learning throughout the year.
There are also plenty of alternative places to study across campus. Dedicated study spaces, including those in the Spark and JM buildings, remain available to students.
Students with questions or feedback about the changes are encouraged to get in touch with the library team by emailing library.suggestions@solent.ac.uk.
