You could become a peer mentor or mentee with SAMS.
Are you a student in level 4 (who has progressed from level 3 this year) or 5 and would like to become a mentor?
Or are you a new level 3 or level 4 student that would like to become a mentee?
The Solent Achievement Mentoring Scheme (SAMS) is co-ordinated by the student achievement team, who work with course teams to provide the opportunity to access peer mentoring.
The scheme involves level 5 students providing mentoring to level 4 students, and level 3 students who have moved into level 4 mentoring new level 3 students - offering pastoral and general study skills support.
All mentors and mentees will be provided with mentoring training and will be able to access a range of mentoring resources on the SAMS SOL page, as well as use of the online mentoring system (Vygo).
This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable skills and experience, support wellbeing and boost employability.
Find out more information and register on SOL >
The deadline for applications is Friday 13 February and the scheme will run until the end of April 2026.
If you have any questions regarding mentoring, please email achievement.mentoring@solent.ac.uk and we will be happy to help.
