New online active bystander module

We are pleased to announce that we have now launched our online active bystander programme.

The active bystander programme empowers you to recognise and challenge unacceptable behaviours including bullying, harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct on campus and beyond.

The programme provides you with the tools to safely intervene if you witness or experience any unacceptable behaviour and helps to create a safer and more inclusive culture on campus and beyond.

It allows you to familiarise yourself with common unacceptable behaviours that you may encounter during your time at university and introduces you to the 5 D’s of active bystander intervention, as well as providing real-life scenarios and interactive activities that support your learning.

All students need to complete this mandatory online module. It can be completed in your own time and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Complete the module on SOL >

Please ensure you complete this module by Friday 27 March 2026.

This module is complemented by in-person training sessions delivered by our student partners, which will be rolled out during the remainder of the academic year.

If you have any support needs or concerns about completing this module please contact our Student Hub.

If you have experienced or witnessed any incidents of bullying, harassment, discrimination or sexual misconduct, you can report this via our Report + Support form.
