We are here to support you – introducing our new online CARE form for easy access to services

At Solent, we want you to succeed in your studies and ensure you always have the right support available to you when you need it.

We are pleased to introduce our new online CARE form providing you with easy access to our key student support services to make a self-referral or a referral on behalf of someone else.

How it works:

  • You can submit a referral for yourself, or on behalf of another student to receive the appropriate support.
  • Once submitted, the referral will be reviewed by the relevant team, and they will contact you with further information and next steps within 2 working days.

The CARE form works in conjunction with Report and Support. You can learn more about Report and Support here.

This form is in addition to existing ways of accessing our Student Support Teams.

Whether you have an issue with your course, finances, personal life or mental health our Student Support teams are here to assist.

Student Hub

Our Student Hub team can help with any questions about your course, personal life or mental health or any other question about your time at Solent. The team will endeavour to answer your query and if they can’t, will find the appropriate person or specialist team to do so.

The Student Hub team are available to answer your queries by phone, email or in person. You can find us in the Student Village in The Spark, TS114. We are open Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4.30pm and Friday, 9am to 4pm. Mental Health and Wellbeing

The Mental Health and Wellbeing service supports students with any emotional or mental health difficulties.

The team offers single session therapy, talking therapies and mental health advice, in addition to social prescriptions, groups, workshops and wellbeing cafés throughout the academic year. Once received the Mental Health and Wellbeing team will respond to you directly by the means you have specified on the form.

Student Assistance Programme

Out of hours support is provided by the Student Assistance Programme which offers a 24/7 helpline. We are changing our provider from 1 April 2025, find out more here.

Disability Advice

Our Disability Advice Team provides information, advice and guidance for disabled students and access to on-campus support and facilities. They offer confidential advice, information, support and screening services for students.

Student Funding

Our Student Funding team assists students with all matters relating to their student finance, including entitlements, support for specific claims or scholarships/bursaries or general financial aid.

Safeguarding

Our Safeguarding team provides a person-centred approach to all of those impacted by a safeguarding concern or at risk of harm. To report a concern, please use the Report + Support form Submit a Report and Support Case | Case Management: Southampton Solent University.

Careers & Employability

Our dedicated careers advice and employability service offers impartial information, advice and guidance to support you and achieve your ambitions. Students, graduates and alumni members have access to Solent Careers Online to assist you with finding work experience, placements or jobs. Spirituality and Reflection

The Spirituality and Reflection service supports students of all faiths and backgrounds.

Our Faith Advisers are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time form 11am-2pm in the Workshop to answer any questions you may have.
