Solent is changing the provider of your Student Assistance Programme (SAP)

From 1 April 2025, Solent’s SAP will be provided by PAM Wellness, in partnership with Gallagher.

In addition to providing you with 24/7 online and offline support, PAM Wellness also provides a host of other services which are detailed below.

PAM Wellness’ suite of mental health, psychological and wellbeing solutions, alongside their neurodiversity and health screening services, enables the University to support all of your health and wellbeing needs.

What is the Student Assistant Programme?

The SAP is a free and confidential student and personal support service that supports you with personal problems that can affect your home life, academic life and general wellbeing.

What support can students access?

PAM Wellness, in partnership with Gallagher, provides Solent students with emotional and practical support for life’s pressures to maintain healthy wellbeing.

SAP Services via PAM Wellness

You can contact the helpline in a few different ways, and the service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – services include:

  • In the moment support via counsellors
  • Money, housing and medical information
  • Bereavement support
  • Trauma and critical incident support
  • Computerised CBT
  • Telephone, video and face-to-face counselling (dependent on agreement)

You can speak to one of the helpline team by calling 0808 196 3533. You do not need to have registered with PAM Wellness to call the helpline.

PAM Wellness also have a portal and app that contains easy to use tools and resources including;

  • Mind Matters – Mindfulness hub
  • Your unique PAM Assist score - Health assessment
  • Move Medicine – Virtual gym and guided workouts
  • Stepping Stones – Goal setting tool
  • Self-guided interactive courses
  • Hundreds of expert resources

You can also access a live chat service via the web based portal and app.

You will soon receive a welcome email which will explain how you can register with PAM Wellness, and provide further details of the support you can receive, and how you can access it.
