Meet your new student officers for the next academic year

Update: On Wednesday the Met Office increased its weather warning for Southampton to red. As a result, the University has updated its guidance below.
Extreme heat is forecast for Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June, with significantly higher-than-average temperatures expected across the region. The University will remain open during this time.
We recognise that hot weather can present challenges, particularly when it comes to travel and comfort. If you experience any difficulties getting to campus, for example, due to disruptions to public transport or concerns about travelling in high temperatures, you are encouraged to contact the relevant member of academic staff as early as possible. They will be able to advise on alternative arrangements or provide appropriate support where needed.
If you need to travel to campus, we encourage all students to take sensible precautions to stay safe and comfortable in the heat. Water coolers are available across University buildings, and you are advised to stay well hydrated throughout the day. Taking regular breaks, seeking out cooler or shaded areas, and avoiding prolonged periods in direct sunlight can also help to reduce the impact of high temperatures.
All student services will be provided online on Thursday 25 June, if you need to speak to someone you can contact the Student Hub via email or telephone.
Our teams are monitoring conditions closely and will continue to prioritise the health, safety and wellbeing of our University community. If the situation changes, or if any additional guidance is required, we will provide updates via University channels.
The full red weather warning guidance can be viewed here and we encourage students to follow the guidance where necessary.
