What is a Student Assistance Programme (SAP)?

A SAP is a confidential resource, designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home or student life, health, or general wellbeing.

Our SAP is provided by external company Health Assured and offers a complete support network including expert advice and compassionate guidance, covering a wide range of issues. Health Assured’s SAP offers cover for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

What resources are on offer?

The Health Assured app and portal offer a wide range of resources through a number of different platforms:

  • Webinars.
  • Four-week programmes.
  • Health checks.
  • Online counselling.
  • Podcasts.
  • Newsletters. (which we will be linking to in Solent’s monthly student newsletter)

These platforms cover a variety of important topics, including:

  • Physical health – weight, exercise, sleep, smoking, drinking.
  • Emotional health – anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stress.
  • Life support – legal and financial, family and relationships, bereavement and loss.
  • Work and education.

How do I access support?

You can download the app by searching for ‘Wisdom’ on the Apple app store or Google Play store.

You can also access Health Assured’s online portal.

The login for the Health Assured portal is:

Username: wellbeing
Password: restcagesails

All students at Solent will have the same login for Health Assured’s app and portal. This is purely to access resources and you won’t be asked for any personal information when you log in. Please be assured that no member of staff or other students will be able to access any information shared with Health Assured through these platforms, or by any other means.
