Solent wins funding for its Well-being in Sport podcast

Solent's 'Well-being in Sport' (WiSP) podcast was recently awarded £500 of funding from the Solent Education Innovation Project for 2024/25 which is being used to support the creation of new podcast episodes.
The podcast teams consists of Kevin Braybrook (Course Leader Football), Tom Doncom (Lecturer Sport Psychology) and Russell Discombe (Lecturer Sport Psychology Football).
Kevin Braybrook said "Our aim was to create new, on-demand content that could support both teaching across our sport psychology modules and share experiences of well-being in sport across a number of key themes."
To date, 3 episodes of the podcast have been published and you can find them on our Spotify channel
Episode 1: Well-being in Coach-Athlete relationships with Paralympic Gold Medallist Aaron Phipps MBE and Jon Cooper.
Episode 2: Career Transition with Commonwealth Gold Medallist Kelly Simm.
Episode 3: Well-being at Major Tournaments with Chris Neville.
Episode 4: Will be published on Tuesday 11 March and will coincide with University Mental Health Day on 13 March.
Episode 4 will feature insights from former professional cricketer Sean Ervine who will share insights into the difficulties of working overseas as an international athlete and how this impacts on mental health. Listen here.
