Traveling this Christmas?

  • Keep your belongings safe. In the UK, you don’t need to carry your passport daily, but rules may differ in your destination country. Always check local ID requirements.
  • Digital boarding passes? Make sure you have a power bank to keep your phone charged.
  • Backup your documents. Store copies of your passport, visa and travel booking documents in a secure folder in case your phone is lost or stolen.
  • Plan for delays. The festive season is the busiest travel time - arrive early at the airport to avoid stress.
  • Visa reminders. Your UK visa is digital, so you can’t lose it! However, we suggest generating a share code before returning to the UK. It’s also a good idea to download a student status letter from the Student Gateway and keep both in your hand luggage/one your mobile.

Personal safety

And remember, if you're out and about with friends - stay safe!

  • Don't walk alone - stay with friends or other people.
  • Stick to well-lit paths.
  • Take a taxi home if you can.
  • Make sure someone always knows where you are and what you're doing.
