Solent student supports Aldershot Town in FA Trophy triumph at Wembley

15 May 2025

Southampton Solent University student Joe Savory experienced a moment to remember on Sunday as he joined Aldershot Town’s support staff at Wembley Stadium, helping the team secure victory in the FA Trophy final.

Joe, a Sports & Exercise Therapy student, is currently completing a placement year with the National League side as part of his degree at Solent University. His role with Aldershot Town has seen him working closely with the club’s medical team, applying the hands-on skills and knowledge gained during his studies in a professional football environment.

Reflecting on his experience, Joe said:

“Being part of the matchday team at Wembley was absolutely incredible. It’s the kind of opportunity I dreamed of when I started my course, and to see the team lift the trophy made it all the more special.”
