Specialist reprographics

We offer students a specialist service for print jobs that require special attention or material. These services include:

  • Digital fabric printing up to 135cm wide.
  • A3 dye sublimation printing.
  • Double-sided printing.
  • Large format printing with specific requirements.
  • Colour profiling for specific papers.
  • Printing for book works.
  • Extra-wide format printing.
  • Printing for concertina books.
  • Printing to support darkroom activity, eg, cyanotypes.

We also offer specialist scanning services, from flatbed scanning of film and transparencies to high-resolution drum scans and scans of oversized flat items.

Students can also make use of our in house mounting facilities located adjacent to reprographics. This includes mounting to substrates such as foam, wood or DiBond.

Students can pay for these services using the eshop.

Specialist printing and reprographics are based in the JM building, in JM019.

3D printing

Solent University offers a range of 3D printing facilities located in the Christopher Cockerell building.

3D models can be created from a variety of materials on different 3D printers. Printing charges do apply and will differ dependant on the printer used and can be paid for via the Solent University eshop.

We have four Formlab Form2 printers for a basic self-service 3D printing service for all to use and more advanced 3D printing technologies for the more 3D informed user. The advanced printers require additional technical assistance with creating the correct file format for print and with the print itself.
