Cashless catering - Twelve Pay
Solent University operates a cashless catering system which allows students and staff to pay for meals without carrying cash. As part of Sodexo’s efforts to modernise the catering experience on campus for you, you can now pre-order your food and drinks using the ‘Twelve Pay’ app, available on iPhone and Android.
How do I get set up?
Download the app
Search for the 'Twelve Pay' app in the App Store and Google Play Store.
Sign up using your email - you will not be able to access the online catering unless you use your email or benefit from the first hot drink free when we launch.
After securely adding your card to the app once within the 'Active Payment Methods' tab of the side menu, it is saved making subsequent purchases effortless.
You can either tap on 'Scan & Go' and pay for your items by scanning the QR code on the price label of the item you want to purchase, or you can pre-order your items to be ready for collection at a later time.
When you've added all the menu items to the cart, choose your collection time. There are two methods of ordering: 'ASAP' (your order will be ready at the earliest time it can be prepared, e.g. 5 minutes) or you can choose a time slot to come and collect your order, (e.g. after a meeting in an hour's time).
When your order is ready, collect from the 'Express Lane Pickup Point'. Your order will have a sticker on it containing your order number.
If you ordered an item eligible for a loyalty point, it will be saved automatically onto the loyalty card.
Receipts are automatically saved on the app.
Enjoy skipping the lines and start earning rewards!
Benefits
The ‘Twelve’ app’s benefits include:
- Your first hot drink order is free!
- Save time by skipping the lines and having your order made before your arrival or simply 'Scan & Go'
- Earn loyalty points without having to carry around the paper loyalty card
- Benefit from exclusive meal deals only available via Twelve Pay app
- Have access to many discounts and promotions in food and coffee outlets on campus
The app is also key to safe food ordering during Covid-19, as virtual queuing promotes social distancing and cashless payments remove shared touch points.
Industry awards and accreditations
In partnership with Sodexo Education Ltd, Solent University is extremely proud to have achieved many accolades for its catering provision.
Food for Life Catering Mark
The Soil Association Food for Life Catering Mark provides an independent endorsement that food providers are taking steps to improve the food they serve, using fresh ingredients which are free from trans fats and harmful additives and better for animal welfare.
In achieving the Gold award at the city campus and Silver at the Warsash campus, our catering partner, Sodexo Education has demonstrated their commitment to sustainability. This accreditation from the Soil Association shows that Sodexo is continually taking steps to improve the food they serve by the use of fresh ingredients, free from undesirable additives and GM, organically and locally sourced where possible and a real awareness of animal welfare issues. The University's caterers are subject to annual inspections and site visits from Food for Life auditors to ensure that the food served meets high standards of provenance and traceability, providing reassurance to customers that meals are freshly prepared using environmentally-sustainable and seasonal ingredients.
