How do I pay my tuition fees?

Tuition fees for international students

You must pay 50% of your fees before you register on your course. The remaining 50% are paid during the academic year as per agreed payment plan.

To find out your course fees, find your course here and see the 'Fees and finance' section. Please note, the fees for courses longer than a year are revised annually and you should budget accordingly prior to starting your course.

Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) deposit

If you require CAS for your Student visa application, you must pay a deposit of 50% of your tuition fees before a CAS can be issued.

Payment options

Solent University accepts online payments via Flywire. Please note, the university does not accept cash, cheques or bankers draft in payment of tuition fees. To find out how to pay your tuition fees and the payment plans available to you, please visit this page.

Issues paying tuition fees

If you experience any difficulties in paying your tuition fees, please contact income.team@solent.ac.uk

Yes. International students are normally required to pay 50% of their tuition fees before registration and, where applicable, before a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) can be issued for visa purposes, or before enrolment for the next academic year - in September.

The remaining balance must be paid during the course and instalments are available.

If you need further advice about your payment schedule, please contact the income team or international student support team.

If your tuition fees are being paid by an official sponsor, employer, government body, or recognised funding organisation, please ensure that the University receives a formal sponsorship letter or financial guarantee before registration.

The letter should clearly state:

  • your full name,
  • student ID number (if available),
  • course name,
  • amount being sponsored,
  • sponsor contact details, and
  • confirmation that payment will be made directly to Southampton Solent University.

If only part of your fees is being sponsored, you will be responsible for paying the remaining balance by the relevant deadline.

If you are experiencing difficulties making your payment by the deadline, please contact the university as early as possible.

We strongly encourage you to speak with the income team or international student support team before the deadline so that we can advise you on the available options and next steps.

Please do not wait until after registration deadlines have passed, as this will affect your visa.

Yes, it may.

For international students, payment of the required tuition fee deposit is an important part of the registration and visa process.

Failure to pay the required amount on time may result in:

  • delays to your CAS issuance,
  • delays to course registration,
  • restrictions on access to University services, and
  • possible interruption to your studies if outstanding fees remain unpaid

We recommend making payment as early as possible to avoid any delays, and speaking to income team and international support team when issues arise.

Yes. You may use a parent’s, guardian’s, or another family member’s debit or credit card to make payment, provided you have their permission.

Please ensure that your student details and reference number are entered correctly when making the payment so that it can be allocated to your account.

Yes. Southampton Solent University accepts international payments from overseas through its approved online payment platform.

This allows you to pay securely in your local currency from your home country before travelling to the UK.

Please keep a copy of your payment confirmation for your records and for any visa-related documentation.
