Student funding

The student funding team aims to help students with all matters relating to their student finance ranging from:

  • Student funding entitlement.
  • How and when to apply for funding.
  • What forms to complete.
  • Help with more complex funding matters eg, if you leave/change or suspend your course.
  • Support in claiming 'compelling personal reasons'.
  • Help to claim estrangement.
  • Help if your funding is delayed.
  • Liaise with Student Finance England.
  • ...and much more.

If you need an answer to your question quickly please check our frequently asked questions first.

We also have more information on our financial support pages on the University's external website and we provide useful leaflets for you to download.

We also have some funding factsheets to help:

Please note: students studying an apprenticeship course are NOT eligible for an SLC loan (maintenance loan) for living costs and therefore should check their course page on the University’s website for more information on how they fund their studies.
