Fee appeals and queries

A student may submit an appeal if a fee is considered incorrect, unfair or there are circumstances in which they feel a reduction is warranted.

There are only three reasons in which a fee appeal will be accepted:

  • Processes were not conducted in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
  • There has been an error in the calculation of fees charged.
  • There are mitigating circumstances for a reduced fee, which are supported by evidence.

If your appeal is based on any other reason, you should follow the complaints procedure.

Fee appeal should be submitted through the fee query form.

Appeals will not be taken over the phone or by email.

Please contact student.hub@solent.ac.uk or visit the Student Hub in TS114.

The University expects all appeals to be resolved within 21 days.

If additional time is required, the relevant department will email you.

Any chasing for debt will be suspended whilst the appeal is being investigated.
