Lost BRP card or passport?

Lost BRP card?

Lost and missing BRP cards will no longer be replaced as they are being phased out as part of the eVisa transition. You need to ensure your eVisa is set up correctly before 31 December 2024. For more information on eVisas, please read here.

A lost or missing BRP card before its expiry date (31 December 2024) will have to be reported to the Home Office and the police. More information here.

Lost passport

If you believe that you have lost your passport, always try to locate it first before reporting it as lost. Again, retrace your steps, as there is a possibility that it may have been found and safely handed in somewhere for you to collect.

If it seems unlikely that you will be reunited with your passport, you should follow the following steps:

  • Report the loss to the local police station (we can help you find your nearest police station)
  • Contact your embassy for a replacement passport (all contact details should be found on your embassy’s website)
  • If you are outside of the UK, ask how long it may take for your replacement passport to be produced- if the waiting time is too long you may wish to discuss the option of obtaining travel document in a first instance, and return home while you are waiting for the new document to be issued

Remember to show us your new passport

If you have a new passport (due to replacement or because your old passport expired), which was not sent to the University, please scan or take picture of the photo page of your new passport and email your new immigration document to: internationalsupport@solent.ac.uk
